POV: Miranda Prospero

I woke up screaming.

The nightmare had been so vivid. Ferdinand dying while trying to save Papa. Papa dying while trying to save me. Me destroying everything I loved because my power was too much to control.

Except it wasn't a nightmare. It was a vision. My abilities showing me the future that would unfold if I couldn't get myself under control.

"Miranda?" Ferdinand's voice came from the doorway of our European safehouse. "Another bad dream?"

"Not a dream. A warning." ...
