Kade's POV

"Because Jaxon and I are fated mates."

I stood frozen in the council words, the words still ringing in my ears. Each words that came out of her lips struck me down like lightning. Fated mates with Jaxon? We both knew that was a bloody lie.

I knew it was a lie but it hurts. It felt as though my chest was torn open and my heart ripped out from me.

Why did she lie? Why did she need to lie? Did Jaxon force her to this?
