The guards kept staring at me, waiting for an answer.

I rubbed the back of my neck and looked around like I was thinking.

“You’re probably wasting your time here,” I muttered. “If she was smart, she’d be hiding near the old mill or maybe down by the river, there's a lot of crowd here.”

One of them frowned. “You sure?”

I nodded. “Yeah. The crowd here would’ve spotted her already. You’ll cover more ground if you head that way.”
