Chapter 51: Nyra’s POV

The night of the duel arrived and much to Kade’s and Axel’s disappointment, even though the Elders and Orran are aware of the duel it was still scheduled to take place at the junkyard. The junkyard was quieter than I remembered.

It was strange, really, how a place so full of broken things could hold its breath. Metal scraps, rusted car frames, and torn sheets of steel lay stacked like graves in the moonlight.
