My eyes fluttered open and the first thing I noticed was the piercing light filtering in.

“Mhmm..,” I groaned in annoyance as if that would make it go away.

Sharp golden rays cutting through the half-drawn blinds, stabbing me right in the eyes.

The second thing I noticed…was the firm arm draped heavily across my waist.
