Lilith’s POV

The first thing I felt was a heavy weight pressing down my chest.

Not excruciating pain or anything—just as though I'd been doing a set of push ups all night.

Like my own body was anchoring me to get some freaking rest already.

My eyelids fluttered slightly, my vision swimming in and out as shapes blurred into view.

Something warm was wrapped around my hand.

For a second, I didn't understand where I was. The air smelled like antiseptic and detergent.

The faint beeping ...
