REED’S POV

I slid a hand out of my trouser pocket and checked the time on my wristwatch, sharp seven as promised.

I sighed in relief as I leaned against my car, staring at the Pierce mansion—Gladeys’ residence.

It was almost as grand as Fathers’ back home. It was difficult to remember when I lived with him and his iron grip. I moved out when I was nineteen.

Either way, they were memories I didn't want to recall.
