“Ughh,” I groaned as I began to regain consciousness. My head banged so hard it felt like it might fall off at any moment.

The steady beep of the monitor was the first thing I heard when my eyes flew open.

My vision was foggy at first — white ceiling, pale walls, the strong smell of disinfectant — then everything slowly came into focus.

Of course I was in a hospital.

The last thing I remembered was having another episode and collapsing on the floor.
