I hadn’t slept, not a single wink.

Every time I closed my eyes, all I saw was Lilith's face — the hurt in her eyes before I had turned away, the quiet shake in her voice when she was just trying to explain her frustrations to me.

She was right.

I had abandoned her and acted in the dumbest way possible by trying to win her over with cheap treats and flowers instead of going on my knees and begging for forgiveness.
