“Lilith, Lilith, wake up!” I heard a muffled voice as I was beginning to stir back to consciousness. “Come on, please wake up.”

The voice got louder and suddenly I shot up, drawing in a sharp breath. My chest burned as I looked around frantically to figure out where I was or what had happened.

“Hey, hey, calm down.” Gavin rubbed my back as he looked at me worriedly. “Take it easy.” His patting with a couple of deep breaths calmed me down but my mind still raced ...
