Pain was the first thing I felt as I stirred awake. A throbbing ache shot through the side of my head pulsing with every heartbeat, making my skull feel like it was splitting open.

My throat was dry and my mouth tasted like copper and chemicals. Water. I needed water. I tried to move and immediately regretted it.

My entire body felt numb from pain, heavy and almost close to unresponsive.
