“Are you used to living outdoors?” Lilian asked, cradling Hailey’s hand.

“More or less.”

Hailey then informed the old woman of everything she had done. It all came out naturally. Lilian didn’t even need to ask.

Lilian asked another question. “How is your uncle doing?”

He’s been quite stable lately. He seemed lively the last time I visited.
