Scarlett's POV

I felt someone breathing down my neck, as the sharp rays of the sun blinded my eyes.

I was immediately startled awake as I heaved in fear

“Slow down princess, you'll injure yourself”

That voice….

It took a while for me to register where I was, as the events of yesterday felt like a fever dream, but then it all registered. I was in the hands of a rogue wolf.

“Are you alright now..mmm?”

He asked as he brushed some hair off my face as he got closer to me. I immediately pushed my face backwards and stood up.

“I can't stay here any longer, thank you for the hospitality for letting me stay the night but I really should be on my way”

I said as his smile immediately dropped, his eyes went sharp and his charisma changed

“Are you just trying to get away from me?”

He asked through his teeth as he stared at the floor. It was like he was holding back his anger, and she knew she was walking on thin ice.

“This is not where I want to be, I want to find who I am before I join another pack”

I said ignoring his question. He frowned

“You can figure out yourself here can't you?”

“That's not….”

“I'm not some dangerous out of control wolf that forces himself on every woman”

His eyes met mine and I could see the anger.

Suddenly Amiya barged in, her eyes were not as emotionless and cold as they were, instead it was filled with fear, and shock.

“The devil….is here”

She looked like the words hurt as she said them. Knox’s eyes immediately went white with fear as he immediately stood up.

“What…. What does he want from me?”

He asked as he barged out from the tent.

“The devil…?”

The name sounded familiar, but I couldn't place my finger where I had heard it before.

Amiya turned to me.

“Everyone is to stay in the tent”

It was more like an instruction than a rule. But I was already distracted trying to place my finger on where I had heard the name before. It was so familiar, yet so cold.

Amiya saw me deep in thought as she rolled her eyes

“The Alpha of the North. The devil that took more than half the entire north kingdom for himself. He had never been defeated in a battle”

I saw a cold sweat break out of her as she uttered those words…..

Then it registered. He was the only wolf that haunts Ryan's dreams. Ryan had developed such an Inferiority complex towards him that every question was like an opportunity to brag and convince himself he was better. Ryan was defeated by a lot of things, but that has never stopped him, that was until he came face to face with the alpha of the North or as the whole supernaturals called him. The Devil.

“Kneel”

Fenrir said as Knox bit his tongue and knelt down with his head low. He has a debt he is yet to repay. And Fenirir had some time on his hands as he wanted to leisurely walk around the dead forest.

His gold eyes were empty as he looked bored.

He had never come out personally to get his debt …the devil must have free times on his mind

“How are you going to repay me?”

He asked as he threw his head backwards, while Knox looked like a mouse caught in a trap

“I am still gathering…”

“I've heard this conversation before”

Fenirir interrupted and he didn't sound happy.

He snapped his hands as one of his guards stepped forward with a dagger in hand

“Chop up his fingers”

He gave the cruel instruction as Amiya immediately dashed out of her tent

“Stop…please”

She screamed as her dark blue eyes met the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen. His was golden and it glittered. But she didn't have the time to admire anyone's eyes. The judgement that she heard the devil give Knox was cruel, she couldn't bear seeing him in so much pain.

“The debt would be paid in full, just give us more time”

She said as she fell on her knees and her head touched the ground

“Please”

She whispered as she felt tears roll down her cheeks.

Fenrir had no expression. He was just cold, it was like he saw what she did like a drama he was forced to watch and he wasn't impressed.

Zeus came out of his tent as he joined them in kneeling, he placed his head on the sand as he also begged for more time.

I looked out of my tent as my dark green eyes immediately caught his attention.

“Come here”

He said slowly as everyone's eyes immediately turned to my direction. I felt cold sweat run down my spine. I had never felt this type of fear, not even when running away from Ryan. Just two words from this handsome devil made me almost pass out in fear.

Slowly I made my way to him as I felt my body tremble. I tried my absolute best to put on a brave font for him, but even the loud beating of my heart could be heard from a mile away.

“What's your name?”

He asked in his low voice that made me unknowingly shiver

“S…Scarlett”

I managed to say.

“You're coming with me”

Knox immediately got up as his eyes flared in anger.

“She's part of my family, you have no right to take her”

He yelled as he made to walk forward, but a knife was pointed to his stomach.

Amiya and Zeus immediately stood up on seeing the situation as everywhere became extremely silent.

“I'm buying her…. you'll be free from your death, at the price of….her”

He said without looking at me. I felt like a shoe in the marketplace that had no rights of her own

“That's outrageous”

Knox screamed as Fenrir smiled for the first time, but somehow it was more cold than his static face. I felt the hairs on her skin stand.

“But don't you know by now….I don't deal with things normally”

It was chilling
