Alpha Caleb’s POV

I woke before the sun, the first streaks of dawn barely touching the sky outside my window. Sleep had been shallow, broken with thoughts of her—Kaia. No matter how much I tried to shut them out, they clung to me like shadows.

Rising from the bed, I went straight to the bathroom. The hot water did little to ease the restless energy coiled in my chest. Today had to be different. Today, I needed to take a step closer to keeping her here—with me.
