I stepped out of the room the moment I heard Alpha Summer’s footsteps fade down the hallway. The air finally returned to my lungs, and I let out a long, shaky breath. For a second, I pressed my back against the wall, steadying myself. My heart was still pounding from fear and the desperate attempt to stay quiet.
