Kaia’s POV

I didn’t know where I was going. I just ran.

My feet hit the ground again and again, faster and faster, until the ache in my chest became unbearable. The cold wind bit at my face, my hair whipping wildly behind me as the trees blurred past. I didn’t care where I ended up — I just wanted to disappear.

Disappear to somewhere no one could ever find me.
