Kaia’s POV

My eyes snapped open to the sound of a steady beep… beep… beep. For a moment, I couldn’t tell where I was. The ceiling above me wasn’t familiar—high, wooden, with a faint scent of herbs and smoke hanging in the air. My vision blurred before slowly coming into focus. I blinked several times, forcing my body to wake up. A sharp sting ran through my hand, and that’s when I noticed a tube connected to a drip.
