Ava's p.o.v We had started kissing deeply when I came back to my senses and pushed him away.

“I don't know why I got caught in the moment but this isn't right,” I stood straight and fixed my dress.

“Ava,I'm so sorry but this is what I have been yearning to do with you ever since you left me.” He tried moving closer to me but I ran away from there before things got worse.

I ran to the washroom and bent over the sink and washed my mouth with water to clean off his kisses but it was a wastage of time because it was already a done deal.

After pulling myself together,I went back to the function to meet my girl and Liam.

“Oh my God babe,you took forever in that bathroom and your girl was here asking about you,” Liam said.

“I'm so sorry but I found a line there and I had to wait…how's it going on here?” I asked.

“Well,so far not bad…everyone is happy and enjoying themselves,” he replied.

“Mummy,what time are we going back home?” My girl asked.

“Babe,let me go and talk to some colleagues then once I'm done,we can go back home,” he stood up and kissed me on the lips but before he left the table,he bumped into Herman and they glared at each other.

“Oh I thought you didn't make it today!” Liam pocketed while emotionlessly staring at him.

I picked Halsey's headphones from my bag and placed them over her ears plus her tab to start playing some games so that she doesn't pay attention to the scene before us.

“Why would you think like that? Of course I had to show up because I had taken a long time without seeing some beautiful face,” Herman turned his head and glanced at me which made Liam get more pissed.

“So how have you been Mr.Liam?” Herman asked him.

“Since I'm winning in so many ways then I think you can click that I have been fine,” Liam arrogantly replied.

“Hmm I see,anyways congratulations on your new branch and my dad sent his regards,” Herman extended his hand for a shake but Liam ignored it and walked away.

Herman walked to my table and I slapped myself in the face.

“Hey little angel,you really took after your mother's beauty,” he rubbed Halsey's cheek and she gave him a smile while removing her headphones.

“What did you say sir? sorry i had my headphones on…what's your name?” She asked.

“Uhm,my name is Herman,what about you?” He asked.

“My name is Halsey but my dad is fond of calling me angel,” she replied with a cute smile.

“Oh who's your dad?” He dumbly asked and I rolled my eyes.

“The one you have been talking to earlier,” she replied.

“Oh that's so cool because you have a rich dad…I wish I could be your sibling so that I can enjoy such a privilege,” he pouted and Halsey laughed out loud.

“Mummy,can he be my big brother?” She asked while holding my hand.

“Nope,he's too old to be my son,” I replied and they both laughed at me.

“Come on mom! Wait Herman let me ask my dad,maybe he can say yes,” she wanted to stand up and go meet Liam but I stopped her.

“No need baby,we are almost leaving and Herman is also leaving right?” I looked over at Herman and gestured to him to say yes.

“Yes Halsey,I'm leaving now…it was nice to meet you,” he rubbed her back then gave me a wink before leaving our table.

“Mummy, I think Herman is a nice person,” she looked at his back while he disappeared in the crowd and I just mumbled in response.

I saw Liam walking back to our table and I told Halsey to get up because we were now leaving.

“Babe,I think we are good to go,” he lifted the girl in his arms and we walked out of the place.

We reached the car and I was the one to drive because I didn't want Liam to get to the driver's seat and play their annoying drive theme song…I made them sit in the back seat so they wouldn't intervene.

I had settled in the driver's seat and I was buckling up when I heard a knock on my door. Then I turned to see who it was and it was Liam's secretary so I lowered the mirror to hear what she had to say.

“Ma'am,there's some associate who wanted to meet you before you go please,I'm sorry sir to interrupt but she said it's very important since it's her big day,” she said.

“No,it's okay…Ava you can go and quickly meet her,we shall wait for you from here but don't take long please,” he replied.

“Okay then,take me to her please,” I stepped out of the car and followed her up.

We passed through the crowd but a few people were left because others had started leaving the venue…I followed her to some room and she opened the door for me.

“Please wait here ma'am,” she instructed me but I was dumbfounded.

After walking out,another lady walked in and her pleasant cologne filled the room but I had never seen her face before.

She walked towards me with a smile and told me to sit down on one of the chairs inside the room and I did.

She came and sat in the seat opposite to mine and she crosslegged while leaning back.

She was a bit older than me according to her appearance but she looked so classy and elegant and her aura filled the room.

Her grey curly hair was up to her chin and she was wearing some glasses with red nude lipstick on the lips…she was wearing red office pants with a matching blazer with a white half top beneath and white heels,believe me I had never seen anyone pulling off an office attire like this before.

“I love your outfit,” I complimented her with a smile.

“Oh thank you so much,” she replied while removing her glasses and placing them on the desk beside us.

“Have we met before?” I asked.

She gave me a small smile before replying,” no,I don't think so sweetie,”

“Oh okay,so are you one of my fiancé's business associates?” I asked.

She stretched and reached my hand and rubbed it gently then she said,”By the end of this conversation,I will have introduced myself to you and before you walk out of that door,you will definitely know who I am and why I asked to meet you before you left,”
