Why are you crying?

~Liam~These nurses kept me outside but I wanted to stay beside my girl and make sure she's perfectly fine.

I have been pacing in the hospital corridor for the last thirty minutes and my forehead was sweating profusely but that didn't matter to me at all.

I heard someone hold my shoulder from back and made me to stop pacing,

“Mr.Liam, please come with me to my office,” the doctor said.

I wiped my forehead and followed him behind.

“Uhm sir, would you like to first take some water?” He offered me a glass when I walked inside his office.

“No I'm good, thank you though,” I replied while taking a seat in front of his desk.

“Mr.Liam, we are really sorry for keeping you waiting but we were doing everything in our power to make sure your wife is okay,” he replied.

He just called Ava my wife again and I wasn't ready to go through the explanations about that issue right now.

“Yes doctor, talk to me,what's wrong with her? And how is she doing right now?” I asked

“Well, let me assure you that she's going to be just fine…but one quick question,” He wanted to ask.

“Yes,what is it doctor?” I gave him a go ahead.

“Don't you two stay together? By two I mean you and Ava…don't you guys stay together?”he asked.

“Of course we stay together, why?” I asked.

“Ava had very low iron levels, this is common case in pregnant women but for her case it was worse…so here comes my question,if you two live under the same roof, why didn't you encourage or remind her to take her pills in time…the ones I gave you last time when you came here with her?” He asked.

“Oh about that! she had a really busy schedule for the past few weeks so I think she skipped some days when working,” I replied.

“Mr.Liam,Ava is pregnant and this means she's no longer alone, she's carrying another life inside so please take it as a responsibility to make sure that she takes her medicine right on time please,” he instructed.

“I'm so sorry doctor but from today onwards,I promise to be more cautious and on the look out for her,” I replied.

“Okay Mr.Liam I trust you because for the record I know you care very much about her,” he said.

“Can I see her now please?” I asked.

“Yeah sure, follow me please,” he stood up from his desk and we walked towards the ward where Ava was resting from.

“There you go,she will be up in a few minutes,” the doctor said before walking out of the room.

I sat down next to her bed and held her hand in mine while staring at her then my eyes immediately got watery.

“Hey don't cry like a baby because I didn't carry your pacifier with me,” I heard Ava's soft voice and I quickly turned my head to look at her.

“Baby girl, you're up?” I asked while gently rubbing her cheeks.

“Yes I am,why are you crying?” She asked.

“It's nothing, don't mind me,how are you feeling?” I rubbed my tears off and stared at her.

“I'm feeling very weak babe, maybe it's because of the tabs and injections I went through earlier,” she replied while trying to sit up.

“No baby girl, wait up,don't sit yet…you can keep laying down for a while please,” I told her.

The doctor walked back in and he was happy that she is awake now.

“Good to see you up Ava,tell me how you're feeling now please,” he asked.

“Uhm,just my head is heavy…it's like I hit it on concrete or something,” she replied.

“That's normal Ava,it's because of the medicine…I'm glad you're up because I have some news for you two,” he said.

“What is it, doctor?” I asked.

“Well,Ava will be detained here for three to five days depending on her reaction during the treatment,” he replied.

“Why doctor? I want to go back home please,” she asked.

“Miss Ava,I would also wish that for you but as a doctor,I can't discharge you in this condition because you're carrying another life so it's my job to make sure that both of you leave here in perfect condition,” he tried explaining.

“Doctor I understand and thanks for everything because I believe you're doing all this for the betterment of Ava and the unborn baby,” I replied.

“Thanks Mr.Liam for understanding…now I will leave you two alone and Ava please take some rest, don't stress,” the doctor instructed and she nodded in response.

“Baby girl I know you hate hospitals but he said we will be here for a few days then we go back home,” I leaned in and kissed her forehead.

I picked up my phone and called my driver to go and buy a few things we will be needing here, especially some clothes.

I couldn't send him to our place to pick the staff because he is not family,so I instructed him to go and buy everything from the store after telling him our sizes and all.

I looked over at Ava and she had slept off. I pulled the cover up to her shoulders so that she wouldn't get cold.

Since she was sleeping,I used this opportunity and stepped outside to make a call.I called someone to get me a good cleaning service so that they can go and prepare the cabin house.

Last time we were there,we left it as a mess and since the doctor instructed me to take good care of Ava, I'm planning to take her to that cabin house since it's cozy and good for her condition.

I haven't talked about it with her because I know she's stubborn…she wouldn't agree because she wants to stay back and work but my plan is,after getting discharged here, she won't work again until after giving birth…I'm not risking two lives again just in the name of over working yet I'm a millionaire.

I saw my driver walking in to the receptionist and I walked up to him to save him from asking for our room number.

He had bought everything I asked for and after thanking him,I went back in to meet Ava but she was in deep sleep.

I went inside the bathroom and cleaned myself…I got dressed in some nice fresh clothes and disposed off the pajamas because they were stinking.
