“It's okay Herman but I believe it won't happen again because we won't be meeting from today onwards,” I replied “Ava I miss you,” he said with his husky voice

I just hung up because I didn't know what to reply.

I went to bed and in the morning I was woken up by the loud knock on the door.

“Jeez Liam,you scared the hell out of me,” I opened the door with my eyes half open.

“I'm sorry Ava but you seemed to be in deep sleep and I couldn't just step inside here but we are running late,” he replied

“Oh shit! I'm really sorry Liam,I think maybe because we had a crazy day at work yesterday that's why I slept like a baby…please give me a few minutes to get ready,” I begged him.

“It's okay Ava,I will be waiting for you in the living room then,” he said

“Thank you so much,” I closed the door and ran to the bathroom to clean myself then came out and used only ten minutes to get dressed and do my light make up before stepping out of the room.

“Liam I'm good to go,” I told him then he stood up and walked to the car.

We first made a stop at some café and grabbed some coffee on our way to the office.

This afternoon Liam was meeting up with his ex-girlfriend Linda and he suggested they meet at their usual restaurant spot near the office.

“No, invite her over here,” I suggested

“Are you sure?” He asked

“Yes,here there's a lot of privacy so I think it's better if you meet up from here,” I replied

“Wait,you mean here in our office??” He frowned

“Yes that's right,” I replied

“Okay let me text her then,” he got his phone and texted her to change the meeting place.

In the next ten minutes,the door swung open and Linda walked in,

“Linda, at least you should first knock because this isn't your office,” Liam complained.

“Yes it isn't mine but it is yours so I'm free to enter even if I don't first knock,” She replied and walked towards Liam's desk

“Not anymore Linda because I'm no longer using it alone as you can see I share it with someone,” Liam replied

“Yah I can see but still I don't care about her,so tell me how have you been?” She walked to Liam's seat and sat on his laps.

“Uhm Liam I think I'm going to first give you guys some minutes…I will be outside in case you need me,” I stood up from my seat.

“Hey Ava don't leave,Linda please I called you here because I needed to talk to you so please take your seat and not on my laps so get up,” he held her hands and made her stand up.

“Liam let her go please so that we can have some privacy,” Linda begged him

“Linda enough of this,please take your seat and keep quiet for God's sake,” he excused himself from her and walked towards her.

“Please stay…don't leave me alone with her,” he asked me.

“Are you sure?? Because I don't want to cause any commotion in here,”I whispered

“it's okay Ava please stay,” he lightly touched my hand and I gave in

“So Linda there's something I would like us to discuss if you don't mind,” Liam asked her

“Yes darling, what is it??” She asked while putting some hair strands behind her ears as a way of flirting.

“So Linda,do you know her?” Liam pointed at me.

“Who,her??” She gave me a mean look

“Yes,so do you know her??” he asked again

“Of course I know her,she is a slut who is trying to steal my man from me,” she replied while rolling her eyes.

“Linda if you're referring to me of being your man then you are definitely mistaken because we are no longer together and we both know it,”he replied

“Liam I don't care what you think but I don't want her near you because she's a slut and I don't like her,” she glared at me

“So my other question is,are you the one who sent in those threatening creepy things??” Liam asked

“Liam listen to me and listen good,I won't allow anybody to come close to you even if we are not together and most especially her,” she wanted to attack me but Liam held her hand

“Linda calm down and I won't allow you to attack her because this is my office and you need to behave otherwise I will throw you outside,” Liam scolded her.

“I still wonder why of all people employed in your company you had to make her sit in here with you,Liam I still love you and that will never change,” she replied with tears in her eyes.

“Linda you need to understand that we are no more so that you move on with your life just like I did,”Liam said

“Liam that won't be possible and it will never be…you're my man and I'm your girl and that's final…as for you,watch your steps because if you got me as your enemy,expect something coming your way all the time,” Linda came and banged on my desk before leaving the office and slamming the door behind her.

“Damn Liam, who is she??” I asked while stammering

“Ava I'm really sorry to get you involved in all this,” Liam came and rubbed my back to calm me down.

“Liam I'm really scared…she is capable of doing anything to me and yet we have nothing going on between us,” I covered my face in the palms.

“Ava please I know this is too much for you but I promise that nothing will happen to you because you're now my responsibility,” Liam looked me straight in the eyes and I could see that he was being sincere with me.

“Liam, how do you plan to do it?? This girl is crazy over you and she is more than willing to do anything to keep you by her side,” I replied

“Ava yes you're right but if we work hand in hand,we can make her plans fail…please I need you to be by my side,” he suggested

“Liam I can't promise much but I'm going to be in your corner no matter what because we need to scratch each other's back,”I replied

“Yes Ava I gat you,” he pulled me in a hug to calm me down.
