Ava's p.o.v We were on the table having breakfast when we heard a doorbell and Liam stood up to go check it out.

When Halsey turned and saw who it was,she quickly stood up from her seat and ran towards the door and she gave the girl a tight hug.

“Hey Alma,what brings you here this early?” I asked while walking towards her.

“Madam,your mom sent me here,” she replied.

Alma is my mom's maid and that's why Halsey was happy to see her because she is familiar with her…mom used to travel with her to Italy whenever she paid us a visit and that's how Halsey and her became friends.

I was surprised to see her here so I picked my phone from the table and called my mom right away.

“Halsey, please take your friend to the table and share your breakfast with her,” Liam instructed her.

“Mom morning,why is Alma here?” I asked.

“Baby,she's your maid from now on,” she replied.

“Why? What about you?” I asked.

“Baby,she and my granddaughter are already close so I thought it's better if you get someone who is already familiar with you guys,” she replied.

“Mom!!! I know you need a maid as well to help around the house so what about you?” I asked again.

“Yes and that's why I got myself the one that was supposed to come to your place,” she replied.

“Oh okay that's good to know,” I replied and my heart was now at peace.

“Thanks mom,I really appreciate everything,” I thanked her before hanging up.

I went ahead to talk to Liam about it and he was happy that it was Alma who was going to watch over Halsey when we are away because we can trust her with our kid and the house.

“Alma,please come with me,” I went and showed her where she will be sleeping.

“So we are leaving for work and Halsey will be back from school at 1pm so prepare some lunch for both of you,” I instructed her and she nodded in response.

“Bye Alma,I will be back in the afternoon,” Halsey hugged her before we stepped out of the house.

We drove her to school this time round and didn't bother calling the driver then Liam dropped me off at my office before heading to his.

I reached the office but something caught my eye as I was heading to the parking lot and it was Alina's car meaning she was already here.

I stepped out of my car and moved towards hers to see if she was still inside and luckily she was sitting there quietly.

“Please come in,” she opened the door for me from inside and I first looked around to see if there was anyone watching me.

“I hate it when you act all creepy around me,” she said and I just ignored it.

“What brings you here this early in the morning?” I asked her.

“Where are your manners Liam?! Of course I came here because I wanted to talk to you, so is it okay if we go somewhere with privacy?” She asked.

“Alina,I just reported for work…can't we meet up during lunch break like yesterday?” I asked.

“No Liam,Why would I come here first thing in the morning when I could wait till lunch time?” She asked and started the car.

“Hey stop the car already, I haven't agreed yet…where the hell are you taking me?” I asked her.

“Liam,I didn't come here to play games,if I ask you something politely but you decide to act like it's a joke,then you leave me with no choice,” she glanced at me then focused back on the road.

We reached some restaurant and pulled over in the parking lot then she looked over at me.

“Let's get going,the earlier the better for you to go back to your office and work,” she removed her seat belt and I also did the same then we both stepped out of the car and moved inside the restaurant.

“Ma'am good morning, your reserved table is at the extreme end on your right,” a hostess talked to Alina and she nodded then thanked her before we moved to our seats.

Alina was the owner of this restaurant but she was so reserved that she treats everyone the way they are without putting anyone down and I think that's one thing that has kept her up there because she respects people and she is hardworking without trying to prove to anyone.

The waitress later brought an iced latte on the table with some cookies and placed it in front of Alina.

“Thank you so much,” she thanked her.

“Liam,go ahead and make your order please,” she told me.

“Uhm,can I please have the same as hers?” I asked.

“Yeah sure,” the waitress replied, then she walked away.

“Haha why didn't you order something else??” she asked while passing me some on her cookies.

“I didn't want to waste time thinking of what to order,” I picked a cookie and took a bite.

“Hmm okay,so tell me how Linda is???” She asked.

“I have taken a long time without hearing from her but I hope she's okay wherever she is,” I replied.

“That girl really loved you,” she took a bite on the cookie.

“She's now in my past just like you…is that why you brought me here?” I asked.

“I love the way you think! Anyways, how old is Halsey?” She asked

“How did you know her name?” I frowned.

“Liam,no one can hide information from me unless I don't want to know,” she sipped on her latte.

A waitress walked to our table with my order and placed it in front of me and I thanked her.

“So tell me please, how old is she?” She asked again.

“She turned five last month,” I replied.

“Oh okay,my girl is just two years older than her…ours turned seven at the beginning of the year,” she replied.

“Ours!!?!! You and who??!” I even got choked on the latte I was sipping.

“Who else am I talking to! Stop acting dumb please…you're the father of kara,the little girl you met at my house…that's the reason why I came back to your life because I was tired of lying to her about her dad,” she said in one go and I started sweating profusely.

“Alina,how do you expect me to believe this when we have spent almost nine years without seeing each other!!? This is so unbelievable,” I slapped myself in the face out of frustration.
