The scent hit me first. Raw power mixed with grief and rage, so potent it made my wolf pace anxiously in my mind. Something was wrong. Something was happening to Selene.

I quickened my pace down the corridor, following the trail of her distress like a beacon calling me home. My wolf pushed against my consciousness, demanding we get to our mate immediately.

'Danger,' he whispered. 'She is being threatened. Protect her! Protect our mate!'
