Sleep became dangerous after the storm.

Every time Evelyn closed her eyes, she woke in another world.

Sometimes it was the forest — not Ghostwood as she knew it, but a wild, unscarred version of it, filled with silver trees that glowed under the Moon’s light. Sometimes it was a temple — vast, open, its walls covered in runes that pulsed faintly when she breathed.
