“Is the house on fire, York?” Ethan asked in a deceptively calm voice, at odds with the tension radiating from his body.

I stiffened as my eyes snapped to his face in surprise. How had he known it was York on the other side of the door? Was he the only one allowed in his room unannounced? Or had he sensed him somehow?
