Ethan’s face blurred as my tears welled. Crying in the middle of an argument stunk of manipulation, but I was unable to call back the evidence of my emotional distress even with sheer force of will. 

Just the thought I was losing him when I’d barely gotten a chance to love him was simply too much to bear.
