Fiance?

Elena

"W_what do you mean?" I asked, but the only answer I got was him picking up a designer bag and placing it on the hospital bed.

"Change into these, I will be outside." And then without saying anything else, he was making his way out the door and shutting it behind him.

A harsh breath escaped my lips.

What the hell?

A few hours ago I was walking in on my fiance and sister, and now I was in the hospital bed because said fiance's step brother had run over me with his car.

I got off the bed, ignoring my sore muscles and opened the bag to see designer clothes.

From the tag, they were obviously very expensive.

I pulled them out and gasped when I saw they were my exact size.

How...

There was no time for those thoughts as I pulled the clothes on, my mind instead, going to how I could pay Xavier back his money and be on my way.

I was done with the Price family. And I sure as hell wasn't going to stay one more second with the one who had made it a point to hate on me from the moment he laid his eyes on me.

Just as I slipped on a pair of comfortable channel slippers, the door opened.

I had been expecting Xavier. Heck even a nurse. Or a driver even would suffice.

But certainly not the man now staring down at me like he was about to strangle me to death.

"L..Lucas?" I murmured his name, my heart picking up speed.

What was he doing here?

How did he...had Xavier informed him?

I mean he couldn't have already known I had broken up with his brother...but still..

"I have known you to be many things, but a slut isn't one of them." Lucas spat, his eyes blazing.

Shock coursed through me and I stared back in both confusion and hurt. "Excuse me?"

"Oh you are excused, Elena." He walked closer, pining me with his gaze. "So I leave you for your sister and then you go throw yourself in the arms of my brother as a rebound? You should know it's not going to work."

"What are you talking about?" The hurt I was feeling was slowly replaced by ice hot anger. "How dare you walking in here accusing me of the very thing you are guilty of?" I blazed.

Those blue eyes staring back at me made me melt before, but all it did right now was make me even angrier.

"What are you even doing here? Shouldn't you be in bed with Chloe, looking for new positions to fuck?"

Lucas was on me in an instant, gripping me by the arm. "What I do with you sister is none of your business. And for your information, Chloe is not a rebound. You were a distraction." His voice was low. "One that was so not worth it, by the way."

From a distance, I heard the last piece of my heart shatter. I quickly masked it and tried to push him away, but Lucas was a solid wall of muscle and that grip only tightened.

"If I was not worth your distraction, then shouldn't you be minding your business then? Why leave the love of your life this early in the morning to come all the way here to be all up in my business?"

My words seemed to piss him off the more because those blue eyes turned darker. "I'm only making sure to do away with a slut like you once and for all. You have no business being near me or my family. And Xavier is family!"

I could only let out a bitter chuckle. "Lucas, you and I know that I am no slut.." My tone was foreign, even to me. But it was controlled by anger and not reason. "Yes... you know, because in the three years we have been together, you failed to to tap that." I would never have referred to sex or myself in such a manner, but right now I didn't care.

If anything, the expression on his face egged me on. "What? Cat got your tongue? You can lie to my sister about not wanting me, but you can't lie to me because I see just how much you struggled to keep your hands to yourself!"

If he didn't want to kill me before, he certainly did now. "You_"

"What is going on here?"

I never thought a day will come when I would be excited to here Xavier Price, but the calmness of his voice, piercing through the tensed air was the saving I needed.

Lucas instantly let go of my hand. "It's none of your business." He hissed, his eyes still on me.

"It's clearly my business as you are in a room in my hospital, and seem to be threatening a patient in my hospital." His voice was so calm, it was scary.

I pushed away from Lucas and walked over to the other side of the room, suddenly weak all over again.

I watched as Lucas turned to his brother. "This is my fiance, Xavier. So I have every right to talk to her when and how I want."

Fiance?

"Your right to that title ended a few hours ago." Xavier raised a brow.

Wait...

He knew?

Lucas wasn't having it though. "Stay out of it." His words sounded like a threat.

Xavier still stayed calm and unbothered, like he was conversing with an employee. "Or what, Lucas?"

That seemed to tick Lucas off, but he only turned around and advanced towards me. "Come, we are leaving."

"But she's not going anywhere with you." Xavier said, and before I knew it, was standing between me and Lucas who now looked like he was contemplating on what part of Xavier's body he was going to puch first.

What even was his problem.

The spicy cologne, added to the warmth emanating from the man in front of me was enough to knock me off any coherent thought for a moment.

How could one person smell so good..

Oh Elena..

"Stay out of my way, Xavier. This is between my fiance and I." Lucas's voice brought me back to the present.

"Except she is not your fiance anymore. And from today onwards you will have to address her with respect, because I would not have you talking to my fiance that way."

Wait...what?

"What did you just say?"

"Exactly what you just heard, Logan, Elena is my fiance now, so you will treat her with respect!"

What???
