CHAPTER TWO

CHAPTER TWO

MIRA

"Lily!" I screamed her name, in desperation, but then she turned to leave like she had not heard me. It was then I realised I had never known Lily at all. She was a devil, and I had been foolish enough to trust her!

That was how I ended up like this! The guards approached me, menacing looks on their faces. There was no way I could fight off these people, my wolf had always been weak, but I was willing to give it a try.

After all, I wasn't going to let them take my life just like that!

One of the guards approached me, and just as he was about to grab me, a man jumped down from the tree and attacked him, knocking him out in a few seconds.

My mouth was hanging wide open as I watched this, who was this man and what was he doing here?

The other guards realized what had happened, and they attacked the intruder all at once, but he was able to fight them off with ease

My eyes were still wide open as I stared this scene in shock. This person had saved my life....

"Thank you....thank you...." I muttered as I approached him

He turned to face me, and I froze when I saw the look in his eyes.

The man looked.....scary. His eyes were staring at me at me like he wanted to devour me. And it made me shiver in fear.

I feared that r I had been saved from one bad situation just to end up in another bad situation.

"What....what are you? Who are you?" I asked the man.

He sneered, and that was when I realised his face was bloody. I had no idea if it was his blood, or the blood of the other wolves that he had just fought off.

"Who ...who are you?" I asked once again.

The man approached me, that same scary look on his face. The look that made him look like he was looking for someone to devour.

"Who...who are you?" I screamed once again, with each step he took towards me, I felt like I was closer to my death.

I tried to move back, but I kicked a few stones that fell down the cliff.

I looked back at the falling stones and swallowed a gulp. The stones were still falling and they only reached the bottom after almost a minute.

If I fell down there, I would definitely die! Staring down at the cliff made me sick with fear, and when I turned back to look at the man, he was already standing in front of me.

He grabbed my chin, forcing me to look up at me. It was then I truly saw his face.

However, I was only focused on his eyes that were blood red.

Who exactly was this man and what had he been through?

"Sir ...thank you....think you so much for saving me but...."

I was still talking when he pulled me to himself. I tried to shake him off me, but his teeth sank into my neck at once.

I froze, and then, I screamed out loud, but he had me pressed to himself, and I could not get away from him no matter how much I struggled.

My eyes were wide as I tried to process what was going on.

Could it be that this person....was a vampire?! I had heard about the vampires, and most of them lived in seclusion, according to the rumours about them, they were more powerful than wolves would ever be!

The sudden realisation that a vampire was drinking my blood made me even more scared. I pushed him away once again with all of my strength, and this time, I was able to get him to get away from me.

The man let go of me and he staggered back, and I noticed the weakness on his face.

He was still staring at me, a dazed look in his eyes. I so badly wanted to run away from him. This was a vampire, a creature that had always been told to us in folklores!

I never thought that a person like him actually did exist in this world.

"Sir...." I called out to him, "thank you so much for helping me, but I have to go," I said and broke into a run.

However, I had only taken a few large steps when I heard a large thud.

Curiosity got the better of me, and I turned to look at what had made that noise.

It was the person who had saved me, the vampire, and he had somehow slumped to the ground!

"Sir!" I screamed , unsure of what to do.

I looked at him for a few seconds, snss I shook my head.

This had nothing to do with me, I had enough problems to deal with it and I didn't have the time to be worried about a damn vampire.

I turned to leave, however, I had barely taken a few steps when I turned again to look at him.

He was lying slumped on the ground, a peaceful look on his face.

I cursed in my head and walked over to him. Kneeling by his side, I tried to wake him up. Maybe he was just sleeping?

I shook him heavily, trying to get him to stand up!

"Sir, it's dangerous here, you have to leave," I shook him.

However, there was no response from him. Perhaps, I should just leave, there was no need for me to care about him....right?

Even as that thought entered my head, I knew I wouldn't be able to do it.

"Sir!" I called out , shaking him once again. This time, I placed a hand on his chest as I tried to help him up.

However, when I removed my hand, a think liquid was dripping from it. Looking at it closer, it was blood, the blood of the vampire!

"Argh!" I screamed in shock.

Thinking fast, I pulled his shirt open, and that was when I saw it, a large sword wound on his chest!
