Abigail moved hastily, knowing that wasting any moment was a risk. She kept checking every corner in the corridor hoping for an escape route.
After a lot of search she found a window. Wide open in the maid's apartment. A sigh of relief escaped her lips unknowingly. She felt a weight of relief. And once again a sweet taste of freedom.
As she moved closer to check how high the window was she was surprised to see how high it was. Any mistake could lead to death. Now how was she going to make it?
She was scared so, she ran back. But, to her horror, a troop of guards were coming in her direction. " She must not escape. Catch her!!!" She heard one of them said.
There was no other choice left. Sweat stung her eyes, her heart pounding with vigour. " A journey of a thousand miles worth nothing without a step... I can do this." She whispered to her self. Running towards the window she leaped into the air. Outta the window. " Argh..." She screamed....

Kimberly's wolf, Kate, ran through the woods. Dark memories swept through her, she howled. Hoping the earth would take her sorrows.
She headed towards the lake in the depth of the forest. On getting there, she went back to her human form.
Tears streamed down Kimberly's face. She fell to her knees hoping the world would open up and swallow her. " Why??" She shouted. Her voice cracking. " Why did you kill her?" She shouted once more. The weight of everything was drowning her. She was slowly fading into the dark...
Amidst the bushes, a small deer came out of it. It saw Kimberly and was pitiful. There was no way to pacify her. A bird made a safe landing on the deer's head. " Kimberly... You are a Luna. You need to be strong." The bird said.
As the only species she could understand, Kimberly turned to look at the bird. " I am but, I am broken. I need a repair. The damage done is not what I hope for. Why do I gain the ruthlessness of the world while helping people? Why?" She asked the bird. Her face was teary. Voice solemn. There was no shred of happiness. Just sorrows on her face.
" Kim... You passed through a lot, and I know that..."
" Byron hates me. I lost my daughter. Lost a daughter like figure Abigail. What else am I in this world for? I regret not having the power to forget what Drake has done." She broke down completely. Her insecurities were now open. She regretted ever failing as a mother.
" Things are not meant to be the same for life. You ought to leave the pain behind." The bird said
" Some pain are not meant to be forgotten. Tell me, if you ever lose your child because of one person you love. Could you ever let go the pain? Could you?" She yelled. Her life had been torn apart, all by her fake lovely mate.
"Things would not have been messed up as this. If only I used my brain." She said...
Moments passed and she was still there, crying." That is not a cure to your problems. I would leave you here. Not to die, but for you to think. Who is that mysterious guy?" The bird said. And almost immediately it flew off...

"Bernard! Face me, you coward! Show yourself or I will tear this palace down around your ears!"
High above, the woman’s smile widened into a sharp, predatory thing. She watched her pawns move exactly as predicted. The first act was over. The next was about to begin...
Amidst the walls Bernard was staring at Byron through the wall holes. Blood was dripping all over him. He was sure that if he faced this guy things would be not good for him and his end was likely near. He would probably die soon if he does not do things with his brain. He had told his guards to get Abigail out of the palace. This was his plan all along.
And there was no one to save him if this went wrong. " Fuck you Byron... Argh" He let out a painful groan as he tried all his best to sit on the wooden chair.
The room was dark and cozy. It was one of the top hidden compartment in the palace. It was built in one of the room four corners. But even if an intruder came in he wouldn't see anything. The whole room was invisible.
' Have you gotten her?' he mind linked one of his guards. He could not get through to his beta, that was why he was in a dilemma right now. Only his beta was safe.
' There's a bad news.' The guard said from the other end.
' What's that?' He asked.
' Beta's dead. There is a sphere in his heart.' the guard dropped the bombshell. And for one second, Bernard felt he had lost hope. Greediness to earn power and title had brought him into this nightmare
' The girl?' He asked trying really heard to be strong.
' She is also gone. She escaped through the window. But there is a probability that she is dead since the height from which she jumped was high.' the guard said.
' Go get her. At any cost!' he said shutting the mind link immediately, his hopes crushed. He had thought about threatening Byron to let him go using Abigail.
Tears run down his eyes. " Holy Jesus!!! Am I gonna die?" He asked himself. It was funny as a killer like him was afraid of death.
Suddenly, the wall broke and a strong hand wrapped around his neck. With a great force he was yanked out of the room through the wall and was sent flying meters away. The sight of Byron made him gasp. He was certain that death was near.
" Your voice really sounds stressed. A powerful Alpha hiding. What a shame?"
Byron smirked mockingly. " Thought you were powerful. But you are nothing. Just a mere rat in the cat's cage." Byron laughed coquettishly. He didn't know what he wanted to do with this guy.
" Spare me." Bernard pleaded. Tears were streaming down his eyes. Blood stung his skin.
" Where is she?!?" Byron yelled.
" She is gone" Bernard said.
And with that Byron's eyes lit. He was getting more furious. He wanted to kill this guy. As soon as he raised his hand to punch. Bernard shouted " She is really gone. I dunno, but it was right when the whole thing was happening." He said. He could not bring himself to say Abigail was dead.
Byron pause his fist mid air. He roared loudly, catching the attention of every one of his pack members. And immediately, the war stopped...
They left but there was a hidden question. Who gave Bernard the information that Byron had a mate?
