"Ahhh!!!"I screamed, clinching to the seat belt, hugging it strongly.
"Help meeeee!!!" Tears streamed down my cheeks as I screamed my lungs out on a roller coaster while Nate scrolled through his phone like the cold-hearted villain he was. I felt like my tummy was about to drop.
This isn't fun at all, This was supposed to be a date not a torment!
By the time it screeched to a stop, I stumbled out and marched straight to him.
“How was it? enjoy yourself?” he asked, smirking.
I sniffed, wiping tears with my hands.
“Wait, you’re crying?” He paused, leaned towards me.
“Leave me alone.” I sneered at him, sniffing.
This was supposed to be a date, we should be in a restaurant eating or shopping. We should be at the beach or coffee shop.
“It’s just a ride...”
“Then why didn’t you get on it?”
His smirk faltered. “I’m scared of heights.”
I gawked. “Excuse me? You’re scared of heights but you put me on that death machine?”
“Relax. I’ll go on the next one with you.”
“Just take me home.”
“Home? No way. We just got here.” His hand closed around mine.
“Come on. It’ll be fun.”
He grabbed my hands tighter as we stood in front of a cave.
At the top of the cave was a signboard that stated 'Kids stay away, this place is only for the mature minds.'
This wasn’t a ride at all. It was something called Fasten Your Legs. Which, yes, should’ve been my red flag.
But Nate’s confidence was infuriating. And kind of hot. Beside a date with my celebrity crush is worth all this.
Some people have not seen Brad Pitt but here I am on a date with my celebrity crush.
"Welcome to fasten your legs." A man said at the entrance, collecting our phones.
"Fasten your legs?" I raised a brow.
"Gonna be fun, don't you think?" Nate asked, excited.
"I don't think so, This place seems creepy," I said.
"Creepy is exciting." Nate grinned at me.
Before I knew it, I was walking into a dark cave full of strangers and fake fog.
I held him tightly, we went in and met about fifteen others.
A lady wearing a red dress was addressing the crowd.
"Follow the green ribbon," The lady on red said.
"See ? I told you, there is nothing to fear" he whispered.
I swallowed hard, hoping it's true.
"NOW RUN!" the lady on red shouted, her voice was loud and terrifying.
People started running in two different directions; some to the left, others to the right.
"Why are they running?" I asked Nate, not liking this whole scenario.
"I don't know," He shrugged.
"What are you two waiting for, run!" the lady yelled at us.
"Let's go to the right," I said, pulling Nate who was walking majestically.
We bursted into a room, there are some people with us.
"Please what's going on?" I asked a couple infront of me.
"It's a game, I don't know what will happen though." The husband answered.
"Oh okay." I chuckled.
My mind immediately flashed to Alice in borderlands movie or squid game.
"This place is dark," I shifted to Nate.
"Are you scared of darkness?"
*Ahem* I looked away.
While wondering what game we will be playing, we saw a light figure approaching us.
"Are you see that?" I asked Nate.
Since the room is dark, subconsciously, we all move towards the light figure.
The light figure became clearer, A woman in a bloodstained white dress. She was Pregnant, and on her right hand was a man’s severed head, on her left hand was a knife dripping with blood.
What is she doing with a human head? I panicked. It's a head, not skull. Its eyes, ears, mouth are there.
I and ninety-nine others screamed. Everyone scattered as the pregnant woman walked to us in a zombie-like walk.
"Did...did you see that, Nate let's run away from here," I said shivering.
I didn't hear any response from him. "Nate?" I turned in his direction.
My date, the man who dragged me here was nowhere to be found.
He bolted, like, Usain Bolt levels of speed.
“NATE!” I shrieked, running after him. My heels caught on rocks. My legs turned into noodles. At one point, I literally crawled.
"Nate wait up! I can't keep up," I shouted but the dude didn't even turn back.
*Jerk!*
Meanwhile, the scary pregnant woman kept chanting, “Who’s next? Who’s next?”
I later got up with Nate, we entered a narrow room filled with rocks.
We paused, breathing hard.
"You jerk, you left me," I yelled at him.
"You expect me to wait for you after seeing that terrifying sight?"
"But should at least..."
"Stop! You are disturbing me with those words, just shut up, I am trying to think" He shouted.
"You better think fast, coming here was your idea."
"I was curious okay!"
"Curiosity killed the cat"
Nate hissed, he squatted, burying his face in his laps.
"Nate" I almost screamed, crying.
"What?" He yelled
"Who is next? who is next?" The pregnant woman reappeared with two heads.
Nate held my hands and ran, small rocks were obstructing the way.
Nate was jumping over the rocks, it was easy for him because he is an actor, he kept on flying the rocks.
"Nate!" I shouted .
He looked back, saw that I couldn't climb the rocks, he came back helped me up.
We continued running, I thought the pregnant woman would slow down because of the rocks, she didn't!
"Gosh! she is so fast, how can a pregnant woman be fast as this?" I shouted.
We heard a roar. We halted.
We heard the roar again, this time louder and scarier.
"Is that a ...?" I asked, pointing to the roar direction.
A lion showed up from the opposite direction.
Apparently, haunted houses now have lions.
I went on my knees immediately. I started crying, Should have listen to Violet and stayed at home.
Nate, a billionaire heartthrob, wailed, “MOMMY!”
Yes. Mommy.
At that point, I lost it.
My legs were stuck to the ground.
"C'mon, not now." I whispered, hitting my knees. I had not taken my drugs in two days.
This is a live lion! I don't care if this is a game, what if the lion already devoured before the team come to rescue.
I resorted in crawling as my legs are too weak to run. I was crawling so fast like a mad woman, due to the rocks, I stopped crawling.
I thought of another idea...somersaulting.
I started somersaulting, crawled, and jumped. Infact I practiced all the locomotor movements I can remember.
I was getting close to Nate who was running nonstop.
The pregnant woman saw us being chased by a lion "Is...is...that...that a Lion, OMG" she threw the heads on the floor and bolted.
Wait, what the helly is going on? Isn't she part of the team? Why is she running also.
The Lion roared again. Nate screamed, he jumped in fright and landed on the pregnant woman bloody belly.
Between the crawling, the somersaulting, and watching Mr. Cool Celebrity latched onto a bloody pregnant ghost’s belly like a koala, I couldn’t breathe from laughing.
Shit! I should have video Nate, unfortunately we have to drop our phone at the entrance.
Due to Adrenaline, Nate didn't know he was on the pregnant woman belly, the pregnant woman also did not feel Nate heavy weight on her body.
He opened his eyes and saw blood on the woman's dress, Nate fell to the ground.
By that time, the lights came on and staff cheerfully told us, “Thanks for playing! Hope you had fun!” A man came as he lured the Lion to a cage.
Nate was pale, he rushed outside immediately and gagged into a trash can.
“This was your idea,” I muttered, still trying to catch my breath.
“I’m suing this place,” he groaned. “I’m suing the owner, the staff, the person who brought this game silly, the lion, everyone.”
Ugh, I rolled my eyes. Celebrity with their madness, all he ever thinks of is suing.
I cracked up. “You should sue your legs for running faster than mine.”
He glared, which only made me laugh harder. “And for the record? When you screamed Mommy...”
“Don’t!” he shot a warning with his eyes.
“...and when you were stuck on that ghost’s belly...”
He glared harder.
“...cutest thing I’ve ever seen.” I doubled over, laughing. “I swear, I wish I had a video.”
He froze. “You…don’t. Right?”
“Guess we’ll find out.” I winked.
"MIRABELLE!!"
"Nevermind, let's go home." He groaned.
"Home? We haven't even spent five hours here, let's have fun," I mimicked him.
"You u can stay, I am going home" he said, walking away.
"Wait" I ran to meet him.
He looked in my direction, and I smiled.
"What again?" He rolled his eyes.
"Mommy! Mommy!" I tried holding my laughter.
He wanted to explain but I bursted out interrupting him.
"Don't worry, your secret is safe." I zipped my lips, smiling.
Nate hissed and left.
"Where are you going, don't you dare leave me here, let me tell you something, I've a second phone which I used to video and I'm gonna show everyone.
He paused.
Oops, I got him finally.
Now I have something on him... I smiled devilishly.
