I dressed and sat in my empty room, contemplating the upcoming ritual that would determine if I'd be appointed as the Beta of the Silver Canines Pack. As the weight of this responsibility settled on my shoulders, I couldn't help but miss Yuri. Although my attraction to her wolf was gone, the absence of her presence lingered.
