Claire's POV
What exactly does Don Carlos want from me? What's he doing at my house! We had a good time together and he ghosted me, and minutes later I saw him with another lady.
What does take me for one of his girlfriends or what am not in for such useless competitions it's either me or no one else.
“Big sis! A guy is at the door and he wants to see you!I saw his face from the window. He's so charming! Violette, one of my sisters, screamed.
“Go to your room Violette!” I snapped at her. I heard her footsteps as she ran to her room. It gave me migraine headaches.
These headaches were as a result of the shock of the accident, and I thought about the cab driver. I hope he survived the accident before. If he should die I wouldn't forgive myself.
I still needed answers for everything starting from his disappearance, and what he was doing with that other lady, and what he was doing at the hospital.
I had to come to terms with the fact that I loved him, I know myself very well, I can't be jealous unless my feelings are attached.
What's happening to me? What has he done to me? I must find out what it is. I got up from my bed and opened my door for him to enter.
As he got in, I looked away. I didn't want to see the face of the monster.
“Claire, I'm sorry!” His bass, calm and sweet voice yelled.
I felt waves of goosebumps within me, there was something about David’s voice that usually gets me.
I still couldn't look at his face, I ignored him but he was persistent.
“I can explain Claire just look at me! I know I know what I did was horrible just let you make it up to you.” He whispered.
I couldn't fall for this, it could be one of his tricks he uses to get other girls. I couldn't be mixed up in this.
So I ignored him and he stood there for minutes, still whispering.
“Give me one last chance Claire, I'm begging you! He yelled, his voice echoed around our Mansion.
“Claire What's going on there? Ding forget that you're grounded!” My dad's voice echoed and swept me off balance.
I had to answer him, because he was getting impatient.
“Fine I'll listen to what you have to say, but you must answer all my questions. Keep your voice down. I'm grounded. I don't want any more trouble from my dad.” I whispered as I finally turned and looked at him in the face.
Immediately I saw his handsome face. I froze. He was smiling, his face that looked like it was carved by Angels. His beautiful eyes, and sexy pink lips charmed me.
“Are you ok Claire?” He whispered tapping me on the shoulder, his strong hands hypnotized by body, as I stared at his eyes I got lost for minutes.
Still staring at his charming eyes, I couldn't look away. He intentionally kicked his lips and suddenly he tapped my waist.
It reminded me of our dance at the party and how he ghosted me, this brought me back to my senses and I yelled at him.
“What do you think you're doing, get your hands off me! You disappear after a phone call and expect me to be nice to you like nothing happened! Sorry handsome I'm not some rebound girl!
“Calm down Claire! You're over reacting I'll explain!” He urged me, glaring at me with his eyes cute like that of a puppy.
“Before you explain you must answer these questions!” I want nothing but the truth. Do you hear me?” I yelled at him.
“Yes I do.” He replied.
“Based on what I have heard, you're a philanderer! I want to confirm if these stories about you are true! So answer me, are you a philanderer? I asked him curiously.
He took a deep breath and replied.
“Claire Smith! I owe you nothing but the truth! The Story you heard us true but it's in the past now! I'm no longer that guy I promise!”
“These are fake promises! I'm not buying your lies! I was inside a cab whenI saw you with that girl. Don't try to deny it! You were kissing her!
I made the worst mistake of my life by letting emotions get in the way thereby leading to an accident that almost claimed my life and that of the driver! So don't dare deny it! I snapped at him.
He tried touching me and I pushed him back.
“Let me explain what you saw is not what you think,”he whispered.
“I’m not buying your lies! Go tell that to the other girls!” I snapped at him.
“Please Claire! Calm down!” He yelled.
“I'm calm, you better start explaining!” I yelled at him.
“The girl you saw me with was called to tell me that my father was rushed to the hospital! And the case was critical, he whispered.
“I’m sorry about your dad but what has the case got to do with her kissing you! There's something you're not telling me! I have another question: you must tell me nothing but the truth. If you lie to me I'll know so you better tell the Truth!” I warned him.
“David Don Carlos Are you a drug dealer?” I asked him curiously.
“Where did you hear that from? That's just speculation from people that hate me and my family!” He yelled.
“That doesn't answer my question, this is a yes or no question!” I snapped at him.
“No, I am not!” He replied, his eyebrows twitching.
I knew he was lying, I just composed myself and kept quiet for minutes then whispered.
“Another Question, How did you know about the accident?”
“An eye witness told me, I felt so guilty I tried reaching out to your friends but none of the numbers were going.
Fortunately for me I saw your parents and told them everything, including the hospital you were rushed to. I'm really sorry Claire forgave me.” He whispered.
His voice was calm and sweet and it sounded so sincere, his facial expression was so charming the way he looked into my eyes hypnotized me leading me into a pit of confusion.
Suddenly he grabbed my hands, fell on his knees and whispered.
“I promise I wouldn't lie to you ever in fact I want to show you a glimpse of my world now I've seen yours I think it's high time you see mine too.”
Seeing him on his knees wasn't just romantic, it was mind-blowing. I pulled him up and whispered.
“If I see your world maybe then I would believe your words for now I'm uncertain where this ship will stop. I guess we'll find out together?”
