I saw when Vladmir changed his mind. It was so quick, mid attack and I knew that Caleb wouldn’t be able to avoid the blow.

“Caleb!” I gasped, watching as the giant blade neared him.

By some miracle, Vladmir mis-stepped and swung widely, barely missing cutting Caleb in half. However, the blade slashed his torso, a line of red blooming and then pouring out. I jumped out of my seat, going to grab the handle.
