“Where did you get these?” I asked.

“From one of the male nurses. I figured if I was going to be stuck here, I needed something to keep my mind occupied.”

“Where’s your girlfriend, nurse?”

“Very funny, Wildcat. I asked for another nurse. It’s a long blizzard. I didn’t want to be stuck with someone willing to move mountains to fuck me.”

I laughed. “You think very highly of yourself, Maverick.”

He grinned. “You’re not complaining.” He winked.
