Odessa POV

I took the bus to meet Ryder at the local park. He was waiting for me when I arrived. He had the envelope with him.

I nibbled on my bottom lip.

“Hi,” I said nervously.

Ryder’s features were dark and stiff.

There was no beating around the bush with him this time.

“Ready?”

“As I’ll ever be,” I said.
