Odessa POV

“Where did they go?” I asked Evyn.

She shrugged. “We have shifts at the animal shelter, though.”

I grimaced. “Do I have to?”

“You do if you want to keep the job.”

I grumbled, “Fine, I’ll meet you there.” I’m not looking forward to the evening shift.

It was dull and mostly scooping up poop.

Evyn and I hugged, and she left. I did a few odd tasks around the house. I’d gotten dressed in my animal shelter uniform. I really didn’t want to go to work.
