“Do you want me to take you somewhere?” he asked quietly. “Or… we could just talk here. Never mind what I said.

I let out a tired breath, staring straight ahead. “Yeah, It’s not necessary. Just say whatever you came to say.”

He hesitated.

Then I sighed, rubbing my temples.

“You know what,” I said suddenly. “Let’s go somewhere. Anywhere.”
