"Pregnant?" Jingga's voice repeated, this time laced with raw disbelief. The woman shook her head, her body inching backward, trying to distance herself from the doctor and the ultrasound image in her hand. "No way. I’ve never slept with anyone!"
The doctor tried to calm his patient who was starting to panic. "I understand this is hard to believe, Miss Jingga. But this fetus is real. It's right here." She pointed to the blurry image on the screen, showing a tiny pulsating cluster.
"You are two weeks pregnant, Miss. This is the result of the artificial insemination we carried out some time ago."
Jingga was immediately shocked, her eyes widening. "Insemination? What do you mean? Who did that to me? Who would dare…!" Her anger surged, mixed with a suffocating fear.
"I never agreed to any procedure! This is assault! I'll sue whoever did this!"
"Calm yourself, Miss!" The doctor tried to soothe Jingga’s anger. "This procedure was carried out very safely and at the request of the man who brought you here. We assure you, everything was done according to medical procedure and for your own good, Miss Jingga."
"Good for what?!" Jingga shrieked, her voice hoarse. She tried to stand up, but her body was still too weak, her wounds aching. "This isn't for my good! This is a gross violation! Who is he? Tell me who did it!"
The doctor shook her head slowly. "I cannot tell you that now, Miss. This falls under patient confidentiality."
"Patient confidentiality? I'm the patient! This is my body!" Tears welled up in Jingga's eyes again, mixed with frustration and a profound sense of betrayal.
"I want to know who the father of this baby is!"
"The sperm donor used is anonymous, Miss," the doctor replied, though inwardly, she knew there was much more she could say but was bound by a promise to Mr. Alex. "What's most important now is your health and the fetus's. You must take care of yourself, and avoid stress."
Jingga felt her world crumble. Cast aside, slandered, and now pregnant by someone she didn't know, through a procedure she hadn't agreed to. She felt like a puppet manipulated by cruel fate. "I don't want it! I don't want this baby! I don't want a child from someone I don't know!"
"Miss Jingga," the doctor gently took Jingga's hand. "This is a gift. A life. This baby needs its mother."
Jingga pulled her hand away, her tears flowing uncontrollably. "I can't handle it. After everything that's happened, how can I…?" Jingga sobbed, her mind in chaos. Her heart was shattered into pieces.
Suddenly, the room door opened, and the two large men who had previously dragged her into the car appeared. They didn't look as intimidating as before. Now, their gestures were more protective than aggressive.
"The Master is waiting, Doctor," one of the men said politely.
Jingga felt a bad premonition. "Who is this 'Master'? Is he the same person who brought me here?" she asked the doctor.
"Excuse me, I'll have to leave you now." The doctor merely offered a faint smile. "You must rest now, Miss. Some things may become clearer later."

At Broto and Dewi's residence, the atmosphere was tense. Loly sat on the sofa, a bandage wrapped around her arm, her face swollen as if she had just experienced severe trauma. Beside her, Gery appeared to be comforting her, occasionally kissing Loly's forehead. In front of them, Broto and Dewi sat. Their faces looked stern, full of disappointment.
"I am very disappointed that Jingga could be so cruel." Dewi spoke while wringing her handkerchief. "Just because of jewelry, she hurt her own sister."
"It wasn't just the jewelry, Mom." Loly added, her voice trembling. "Jingga also said she would report Gery for canceling their wedding. She even threatened to ruin our lives." Loly lied very convincingly. Her eyes met Gery's, as if seeking support.
Gery nodded in agreement. "That's right, Dad, Mom. Jingga even hit me when I tried to protect Loly. She was very emotional and out of control."
Broto sighed heavily. "I don't know what else to do. What should we do with Jingga? Every time there's a problem, Jingga is always the cause. It seems adopting her was a mistake."
"We can't keep bearing her shame," Dewi said coldly. "She's brought too many problems. Now she's hurt Loly, who is pregnant. What if something happens to our grandchild?"
Loly looked down, hiding a sly smile. Her plan had worked. Her parents and Gery hated Jingga with a passion. She felt satisfied seeing them believe every one of her lies.
"I already asked Gery to replace all the jewelry Jingga took," Loly said, further tarnishing Jingga's image. In reality, Jingga hadn't taken the jewelry at all.
Dewi and Broto grew even angrier hearing this. "How ungrateful!" Dewi growled.
Jingga now stood at the doorway of Broto and Dewi's house, her body still weak, but she forced herself to come. She had escaped from the clinic, unable to bear being in a place that made her feel confined and treated arbitrarily. She wanted an explanation, she wanted the truth to be revealed. However, she didn't know she would be greeted by an even deeper hatred.
"You all!" Jingga called out, her voice barely audible.
All eyes turned to her. The faces that had just been filled with pity for Loly now transformed into gazes of disgust and anger.
"Jingga!" Gery rose, his expression filled with hatred. "How dare you come back here after what you did to Loly and hurting her yesterday?!"
"What did I do?!" Jingga shot back, the pain in her heart erupting. "Loly is lying! She hurt herself! You can't just believe her!"
Loly gasped, then began to sob. "Jingga… why do you keep accusing me? I'm not lying, Gery… Mom… Dad… You know I would never lie."
"Of course we know!" Dewi took a step forward, glaring at Jingga with a piercing look. "We know who you are, Jingga! A liar! A thief! And now, you even dare to hurt your pregnant sister!"
"I didn't hurt her!" Jingga pointed at Loly. "She's faking it! Just ask Gery, he knows I never touched her!"
"Enough!" Gery shouted, his anger boiling over. "I'm sick of your act, Jingga! What else do you want to destroy in this family?!"
Jingga fell silent, her body trembling. She looked at the faces she once called family. There was no longer any warmth in their eyes, only animosity.
"You… you won't believe me?" Jingga asked, her voice weakening. "After everything I've done for this family?"
"What have you done? You want to keep score?" Dewi scoffed sarcastically. "We raised you! We brought you up! And this is your repayment? Constantly causing problems!"
Jingga's heart sank. She felt as though she had been stabbed multiple times. However, there was one thing that now gave her strength, or at least, a deeper sense of despair. "If so, you should know this too." Jingga swallowed, tears streaming down her face. "I … I'm pregnant."
The silent room suddenly became tense. Dewi, Broto, Gery, and even Loly stared at Jingga with shocked, disbelieving expressions. Jingga’s words sounded utterly disgusting. Loly immediately turned to Gery, afraid that the child Jingga was carrying was his.
"What! Pregnant?"
"Pregnant?" Dewi repeated, her voice almost a whisper, then turning into a scream. "You're pregnant?! With whom?! You're shaming this family, Jingga! What kind of woman are you?!"
"I never did anything with you. That's not my child," Gery said, as if unwilling to be accused.
"I don't know," Jingga answered honestly. "I don't know who the father is. I… I've never slept with anyone!"
"Liar!" Gery condemned, his gaze full of contempt. "After all this, you still dare to lie? Pregnant but don't know who the father is? Disgraceful! Which man did you do it with, huh?"
"That's none of your business, Gery!" Jingga cried.
"I thought you were a decent woman. Turns out you're just like the rest," Gery sneered.
"Gery's right." Broto interjected, his face pale. "This is too far, Jingga. This is a huge disgrace to our family. We cannot accept this."
Loly smiled cunningly, looking at Jingga with a triumphant gaze. "Jingga is truly something. After harming me, now she brings shame upon this house. She must have sold herself to some playboy and become a woman of the night, right?"
"Loly, watch your mouth!" Jingga screamed, her anger flaring up again.
SLAP!
A loud slap landed on Jingga's cheek. Dewi had slapped her. "You ungrateful child! We don't need a woman who brings shame like you in this house! Get out! We don't have a child like you! And that child is not our grandchild!"
Jingga's tears flowed freely, wetting her reddened cheek. She held her face, feeling a pain deeper than the slap itself. Broto looked at her with an empty stare, no affection left. Gery turned, embracing Loly, as if shielding her from Jingga's tainted aura.
"Get out of here, Jingga!" Gery banished her, his voice cold and firm. "I don't want to see you again. Never come back here! I'm disappointed!"
"Alright," Jingga said.
With a broken heart, Jingga stepped back. She turned around, running away from the house that was no longer her home. She ran while crying, without direction.
That night, Jingga walked alone in the city with no destination. Her steps were heavy, the gusts of wind piercing through her bones. She felt she had no one left. She was confused, with no place to return to.
From afar, a man inside a luxurious black car was watching Jingga. Alex Abraham's sharp eyes watched the fragile Jingga, alone in the darkness of the night. He saw Jingga fall, her body swaying by the roadside.
The man let out a long sigh. "Bring her in," Alex ordered his bodyguard, his voice low and full of authority. "Take good care of her."
The bodyguard nodded obediently. A few seconds later, Alex watched his bodyguard approach the unconscious Jingga. Now, Alex knew. His fight to protect Jingga had just begun. He couldn't let anyone touch or harm that woman, let alone the child in her womb.
"Why did she manage to escape? From now on, I have to protect her for the sake of my baby," Alex muttered, visibly worried.
