"Ana. Anastasia, darling! Baby, wait!" I heard my mother call as I ran toward the door and swung it open. There he was, worry etched deep into his features.

I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to hit him for keeping me in the dark all this time, or kiss him because I missed him so much it hurt, or hug him because I needed to know what happened to his real parents. I just stood there, tears streaming down my face.
