Thunderous - The most arrogant horse in the white stable, I walked up to my agent, nodded at her, and she smiled before handing the reins over to me. I gently ran my fingers through Thunderous's soft skin. It felt light, and he neighed.
Bringing Thunderous to the waiting line, I skillfully hopped on him.
"Let's win this," I muttered, patting its head. I fastened my gears as the place was filled with deafening cheers. Most of which goes to the regular top horse racers, Anthony Wilson and Eden Praise.
I could hear Noah's name amidst the loud cheers of other racers. But mine seems to be lost. I couldn't be much bothered by that, for I know somewhere in the crowd are my family who have my back, something I care about. As the only lady on the team, I know not to expect much.
I buckled my helmet, fixed the horse rein, and readied myself for the next adventure-filled moments of my life.
"Bang," the referee fired the shot in the air. Everyone took off, and so did I. I clutched tightly to his rein, and he ran as fast as he could, moving in the direction I positioned it. As the breeze blew against my skin, I could feel changes in me.
I found myself smirking and smiling at the tension as Thunderous ran faster than he ever had.
My vision gradually became clearer with each passing second. I could envision the obstacles set up three hundred meters ahead, and we skillfully passed through them without slowing down.
Now that I had already left the crowd behind, I could no longer hear their voices, but Ariel and Aiden's words were still stuck in my mind, replaying word by word.
Thunderous kept pushing through obstacles. We have already covered over seven hundred and fifty meters from the starting point. I was gradually catching up with the four racers ahead of me. Surprisingly, I could see them. I could view their positions from where I was, and I fastened the reins.
Indeed, Anthony and Eden stood up to their names, as they were almost five hundred meters away from me. I gritted my teeth.
I felt an energy pulse through me. I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath of the air. My eyes flung open as I patted Thunderous gently.
"Let's win this," I muttered again. It felt like my words were magical. Thunderous's initial spread seems to have tripled as we speed through the mountain.
He was so fast that I could barely tell the things around me, and shockingly, I was enjoying this. The smile on my face did not fade, and I overtook two racers now at the third.
From my peripheral view, I could see a racer trying to catch up with me, and that made me sneer. I focused my gaze on the front.
View the locations of my competitors. I visualized myself bidding goodbye to the top racer, Anthony Wilson, and then Thunderous went crazy with his speed.
I was now just a few meters away from Anthony Wilson. I have left Eden behind. Hehehe, I could not stop the laughter from rolling out of my lips. It felt like fun racing instead of tournament competition.
Thunderous sped through, and we successfully overtook Anthony. Twenty-eight kilometers have already been covered, and we only have two kilometers left.
I pulled his reins again, and we continued running through. Two racers were trying to catch up with me, but I had already left them far behind.
One of them was racing his house so forcefully that I thought he might crash into a tree.
And then, kpa! He did crash against a huge tree, which he didn't notice was ahead of him. It sent him flying to the ground, and he rolled into the bushes. I was sad for him, but I wasn't the one to care too much.
I rode him effortlessly, and soon I could see the finishing line ahead. Just then, a racer I didn't notice earlier overtook me. I look up, my eyes burning in rage. The rage seemed to be doing something I couldn't understand.
Thunderous neighed loudly, and he went racing faster than he had. I didn't look anywhere else but just focused on the finish line, which I could already visualize.
We ran through the woods, the winds doing wonders to my skin. I could hear cheers. And stunning, loud cheers of my name were buzzing through the entire arena as I successfully crossed the finish line as the first runner, and then the other runner soon traversed through.
We pulled off our helmets, and I realized he was... Austin, a weird guy who studies in the same class as me.
