MAYA'S POV

I take a deep breath and move my feet toward the staircase, my eyes darting around. I notice different areas of the academy blocked off with red ropes and the inscriptions reading NO ENTRY where monsters are at work in the damaged parts of the academy.

“Wow, they’re rebuilding this place fast,” I say.

Lux nods. “Yes. The academy has old money. They can run anything they want, as fast as they want.”
