I clench my fists tightly as my body jerks, electromagnetic energy flowing through my veins. I can’t open my eyes. All I can see in my vision is blank white.

Stay focused. I say it in my mind, trying to remind myself of what Jaden said earlier. I have to play along—pretend like I’ve lost my memory.
