Maddox looks at me. I look at him. He growls, a loud, threatening hoarse noise escapes his lips.

I think he's about to transform. But that's not really wise, "Maddox." I call him, placing my hands on his shoulders to stop him. "Save your energy. We can't fight them now. If there's anything we need to do, it's to run."
