“I'll pay,” I call out to the shopkeeper as I gently push the two girls aside and come to stand beside Reyna.

The girls scowl at being ignored and walk away muttering under their breath. I pay them no mind.

Reyna, of course, has a frown on her face as she grumbles a reluctant “thank you.” She clearly doesn't want me paying for her.

But of course, with a barely surpressed smile, I swipe my card.
