“SHIT!” I cuss, the sound echoing down the quiet dorm hallway.

My keys jangle violently in my hand, their ridged edges biting into my palm as I twist them over and over in the lock.

My room door shakes and rattles noisily, drawing the attention of the few students passing by, but it doesn’t open.

The pain from the keys on my palm makes me shut my eyes tightly.

After leaving the hockey arena, I spent the rest of the day attending classes.
