Jane

The sound of birds singing and the cool ocean breeze on my face slowly woke me up. I felt incredibly weak and could barely move my arms and legs. It was as if my whole body had gone numb.

The curtains were closed, making the room dark and stuffy. The only light came from a small lamp on the bedside table, which helped me see a little bit.

I tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through my head. The headache was so bad I thought my skull might split open.
