My heart sank as panic clawed my chest.

My eyes went wide as I stared at Alexander. My hands trembled as I gripped the staff tightly.

"Breathe woman," he murmured, low enough that only I could hear. "You lifted it with ease so no worries."

No worries? What sort of barbaric act are they practising here?

I didn't know if I should be grateful or not that I could lift it. But it still didn't change anything with the scroll still missing!
