I can feel how fragile she is in my arms. The fact that she's not healing herselfthat her wolf isn't kicking in to repair the damagetells me just how badly hurt she really is.

The drive to the hospital is a blur of red lights and honking horns. I carry her straight into the emergency room, ignoring the stares from other patients.

"She was attacked," I tell the nurse at the desk. "She's unconscious."
