It was that time of year again in the Whitmore family, an annual celebration of their family's foundation, which drew people from far and wide in attendance. It was a very glamorous event that was always talked about in society, and everyone always looked forward to it. this event was so important to the whitmores because it was that time again to show off their class and elegance to all who came for the event and sarah their daughter had to also be part of the event for her she didnt really like the event because her parents would make her to wear very special and expensive dresses that portrayed the background that she came from and she had no choice but to wear it and put on a smile with it. But deep down in Sarah's mind, she really knew she didn't like all of the paparazzi her family displayed. the day of the event came and the family had begun preparations in order to make the whole event an amazing success, sarah was dressed in a long pink flowing gown that made her look like the flawless daughter of the whitmore dynasty she truly was, guests started arriving and she was warmly receiving all who came for the event with a handshake and a warm smile while that was going on the unexpected happened the arrival of the hales family, that was the last place the whitmores expected to see or have anything to do with the hales family due to their fierce rivalry and hatred for each other. The Hales were there out of obligation because their family had dealings with friends of the Whitmores, and every invited guest was entitled to bring a family along, which led to their presence. and there marked the start of something that could not be separated the meeting of sarah and Jacob, Jacob hale was one who didnt fancy social gatherings and events and was just forced into coming all because of formality and thereby had to be in his best behavior,when their family arrived they both saw each other and exchanged warm pleasantries and they both knew that they had seen something in each other Jacob accompanied his parents and his older brother Daniel hale to the ballroom where he was looking for the nearest exit to get out from because he knew the firce rivalry between the two families and that their families never got along quite well but both of them kept staring at each other couldn't resist sarah saw a charming dark skin prince in a black tuxedo with his broad shoulder and curly hair and Jacob also saw a dazzling fine princess in a pink gown that had a blonde hair that he couldn't just look away from. after a while the party had been on sarahs friend natasha noticed what had been going on and asked her what was going on and she said nothing but natasha being her friend since childhood knew that something was off and could tell that she was staring at Jacob which meant something deep she told her that what she was doing was wrong and she knew the implication of what falling for a rival family meant. On the other hand, Jacob, while he was still gazing at Sarah, the pretty damsel, was cautioned by his brother Daniel that what he was doing was only going to cause more harm than good. then the party went on and everyone was having a good time except the two confused love birds then it was time to hit the dance floor and all the couples at the occasions obliged they were rocking it at the dance floor then sarah was dancing on the dance floor while Jacob was being held back by his elder brother then suddenly sarah excused herself from the dance floor and went into gallery seeking air and a bit of space then suddenly the atmosphere changed and she noticed that her prince charming was standing right in front of her, they stared at each other for quite sometime and enjoyed each others company then Jacob cleared his throat and said affirmatively you are sarah whitmore and sarah replied by saying you are Jacob hale and Jacob replied saying you know me then sarah said yes everyone knows you ''my family'' and she was about leaving when Jacob completed her statement by saying ''they hate us'' he sighed and said the hatred between our families is nothing new it doesn't matter and she chuckled and said ''doesn't it'' Jacob after keeping quiet and studying her countenance replied saying not tonight and sarah noticed something unraveling in her that someone wasn't speaking to her as a whitmore heir but someone was really connecting with her as a person she should have left the place but instead something kept on drawing her closer to Jacob and that was when she heard the voice of her friend natasha in the background calling her name then when she heard that they had to dismiss then she told Jacob that she had to go and Jacob nodded in affirmation that yeah thats true and he replied her saying good bye until next time sarah whitmore she hesitated but eventually left feeling so sad as if she had left something behind and Jacob watched her as she left and certainly knew that the start of something remarkable had only begun.
