Chapter One
The sound on the marble floor from her stiletto announced Tatiana Teague’s presence as she strode towards the porch.
Demurely, her hands held the door knob compelling it to open.
Darting her eyes around the room in search of someone, she smirked at the absence of him.
“Guess the bitchy bitch just arrived from New York!” A feminine figure called as she descended from the staircase.
There was an older resemblance to Arthurian Melvin which left one explanation - She was Arthurian Melvin's mother.
Her corset hugged her body tightly with a little tail following her. Her aura screamed “taste” and “class” but on her face was a look of contempt mixed with an unconcealed hatred.
Tatiana Teague gazed at the staircase. “And I guess the witch is here, too.” She murmured incoherently.
“Why are you here?”
“What a dumb question! I am here to see my man, Arthurian Melvin.” Tatiana sneered.
“Your man? I believe there is a mistaken identity. I know for sure that I didn't raise my boy to be a fool and settle for trash!” Kiara fired back.
Tatiana took a bold step towards Kiara, staring deep into her eyes. “I, Tatiana Teague, is going to marry your son, Arthurian Melvin. I will be your daughter in-law! So the earlier you get used to it now, the better for us all because,”
Tatiana rolled her eyes and took a step away from Kiera.
“You can't stop us.” She dramatically raised her two index fingers in the air as she quoted the last words.
“How dare you!”
Kiera’s hand connected on Tatiana’s right cheeks in a resounding slap.
“Wait a minute! Did you just lay your filthy hands on my cheeks?” Tatiana's jaw dropped as her hands held the side of her face that was slapped.
She spends a million dollars on her face on a bi-weekly basis, and Kiera had to tint her face with her hands?
“You left your dirty fingerprint on my face!” Tatiana fumed, waiting patiently for an apology.
“Oh, I am really glad that I left my fingerprint on your cheeks. I hope there were more than five of them.” Kiera jeered.
“That slap is what you get for speaking rudely to me! Don't you have manners? Did you have any upbringing at all? You are such a bitch,” Kiera continued, ignoring the rage blazing in Tatiana's eyes.
“You need to be taught a lesson, so I volunteer to do it with the slap.” Kiera shrugged.
Tatiana's hand raised mid air but stopped half way across Kiera’s face.
Kiera's eyes widened. “You are raising your hands to slap me!”
“I am going to let this one slide.” Tatiana bellowed with her hands falling to her side. “But, if it happens again, I wouldn't be responsible for whatever will befall you.”
“I might not be in a good mood next time. Be careful!” Tatiana warned.
“Holy mother of Mary!” Kiera did the sign of a cross across her face. She shrieked, calling the security men.
“Why are you calling the security men? To throw me out? Tatiana mocked. “I am not surprised. It seems to be…”
At the arrival of the security men, “Throw this bitch outside of this building and never ever dare to let her in again!” Kiera ordered.
“Yes ma’am!” They answered, advancing towards Tatiana.
“What's happening?” A masculine deep voice inquired calmly as he descended from the staircase two at a time.
A tall, handsome man with his hair slicked came to view. He was shirtless, leaving his beautiful torso and biceps to view.
Tatiana gulped as she stared at the midsection line between his umbilicus region to his pelvic.
Damn, he was hot!
“Ahh,” Tatiana shrieked, falling to the floor with her hands clutching her stomach.
“Mommy, I told you I couldn't leave Arthurian Melvin. You shouldn't have kicked my stomach. I love Arthurian Melvin, how can I stop loving him?”
“Tatiana, are you okay?” Arthurian Melvin ran towards Tatiana Teague.
The concern on his face caused his eyebrows to arched.
What was happening? Kiera wondered, her eyes kept moving from Arthurian Melvin to Tatiana who was in his arms.
The fact that Tatiana could so easily switch personalities like a flash, and threw an hysterical fit as a cover up further reaffirmed her decision to reject her.
“Mom, what did you do to my fiancé?”
Tatiana's heart accelerated with excitement at Arthurian Melvin's words.
“Fiancé?”
“She hates me so much Arthurian, your mom really hates me!” Tatiana cried, as she buried her face in the nape of his neck.
With a middle finger, Tatiana stuck her tongue out victoriously at Kiera and the security men.
“Mom, you promised!”
“I only promise to be civil! I never promise to stand still and watch a brat humiliate me, insult me in my own house!” Kiera snapped.
“Your bitch tried raising her hands on me! She tried slapping me, your mother! Did you expect me to stand still and watch?”
“Arthurian, that's not true.” Tatiana cooked. “I would never do such to your mom, my mother-in-law! I love her as my mother.”
“Oh gosh! If you do keep spewing more lies from your mouth, I will have your tongue cut off!” Kiera threatened maliciously.
“You see? She is threatening me! Your mom doesn't hide the fact that she detest me.” Tatiana hiccuped with her ruined mascara streaking down her cheeks. She continued. “Your mom said I can't marry you because she will never accept me as her daughter in-law.”
“Mom!”
“Are you gonna accept this wench’s words over mine?”
“Mom! Stop treating Tatiana, my woman, as a foot mat. I don't like it. You are hurting me when you hurt her.” Arthurian Melvin pleaded.
“You don't even believe me, your mother!” Kiera threw a hand up in an exasperated gesture. “What has come over you!”
“Nothing mom! Please stop hating her, else…” Arthurian Melvin let his threat trail off.
“Else what? You are now threatening your own mother for a lady that's not worth it!”
“I can't continue in this relationship when your mother obviously doesn't like me and approves of us.” Tatiana pulled away from Arthurian Melvin's arms.
“My mom will come around with us.”
“No! Let's break up!”
