Chapter Nineteen

Isabelle slowly looked up.

A tall figure stood before her, his back to the streetlight and the headlights of his car. The glow was not bright however and only caught the edges of his face. But it was enough for her to see the sharp bridge of his nose, the clean line of his jaw, and the faint glint in his eyes when he looked down at her. His features weren’t clear, but even in the dim light, there was a steadiness in his bearing that she recognized at once.
